A caregiver is matched to your family and comes for the scheduled hours, whether that's a few times a week or most days. Most families start with two or three of these and add more as needs shift. Some families need more than a few hours a day. For a loved one who cannot safely be alone overnight, or who needs help throughout the day, WellCare provides live-in and 24/7 home care. Certified home health aides stay in the home or work in shifts, so someone is always there for toileting, mobility, medication reminders and nighttime safety.
Live-in and 24/7 care is often chosen after a hospital stay, during the later stages of dementia, or when a family caregiver needs dependable relief. For private pay clients we arrange 24/7 coverage as the family needs it. For Medicaid members, respite hours are requested through their insurance plan, and once we have the authorization we send an aide for those hours. Overnight care is available to all clients, depending on insurance coverage or private payment. Your RN assessment decides how much coverage is needed, and we adjust the plan at each 60-day reassessment
